BlackSMS let's you send hidden password-protected text messages. The name "BlackSMS" is due to the texts showing up as black chat bubbles in the iMessage app.

You can message your friends confident that no one will read them: Not your friends, nor the government, nor spy software (many of you probably didn't know that within five minutes someone can have complete access to your text messages).

The app utilizes a strong symmetric-key encryption algorithm (AES) so that the only way to decrypt a message is with the original password.

You can also blacktext several people with one password for that group of friends.

The app does not only work with the official iMessage app, it can be used with any messaging service that supports images.
